Working design documents for the Image Recipe product, published for review. Newest first. Each one is a standalone page — open it and read straight through.
Anything you type is kept: the recipe name is a field that saves as you type, a blank reverts, and a draft is anything meaningful. Nothing takes focus when a page opens. What a recipe needs can be several things, one of them your own. An adversarial pass found 19 more defects, some present since v14, and they are fixed.
Introduced New recipe, made Customise start from what the page shows, and restored the colour pickers. Kept for comparison against v22.
Made Text-mode editing follow one rule for every recipe — the first edit turns the prompt into plain paragraphs, with the previous blocks kept whole. Kept for comparison against v21.
Made saved mean saved, put the name in the heading with a pencil, kept the ⋯ menu on screen, and put the prompt first on a phone. Kept for comparison against v20.
Made the whole-prompt box round-trip through the recipe’s own parser, so an edit keeps every block it still contains. Kept for comparison against v19.
Made editing the prompt a place you go — the whole prompt, or its blocks — and let an instruction be inserted at a chosen position. Kept for comparison against v18.
Opened the prompt up for editing and made a copy say what it is based on, with block editing reached from a button. Kept for comparison against v17.
A question about deleting or resetting a recipe now sits inside that recipe's own row, names it, and is cancelled by anything else you do, so it can never be answered against the wrong one. Changes reports the state of each difference as well as the difference, including text you added and then switched off. Every view has an address, so Back and Forward work.
Advanced is gone again. Instead each change is labelled where it happened — Added, Removed, Left out — with Restore and Switch on to put it back. The Colours label becomes Colors, matching the word the prompt itself uses.
Added deleting a recipe and restoring a style’s wording, and tucked the less-used controls behind an Advanced section. Kept for comparison against v14.
Turned taking a section out into a plain switch — Include in prompt, or Off. Kept for comparison against v13.
Introduced removing and restoring whole sections, using worded commands rather than a switch. Kept for comparison against v12.
Added Escape to close, a jump to My recipes, and a link back to the original a changed recipe came from. Kept for comparison against v11.
Introduced the library model — My recipes and Favourites, with duplicate, rename, delete and reset to original. Kept for comparison against v10.
Added wording controls and a view of the prepared prompt, still using the earlier “Mine / versions” model. Kept for comparison against v9.
Added colours as an editable field, a copy-failure message, and a save confirmation. Kept for comparison against v8.
Added undo, and leaving part of a recipe out of the prompt. Kept for comparison against v7.
The previous build of the app, kept for comparison: discover a recipe, pick a style, make your version, and keep it in Mine. No undo, and no way to leave part of the prompt out.
Five recipes, and discovery is back — search, categories, and bookmarking from a card. Editing a saved version now updates that version instead of piling up near-duplicates.
One connected app — a single state object, four views, two live viewports that stay in sync. Pick a style, edit the prompt, save a version, reload the page, and your work is still there.
The four journey shapes, the discover-to-recipe flow, and one thing the corpus got wrong.
Five UI directions — result-led gallery, parameter panel, side-by-side comparison, guided run, dense reference — and what comparing them revealed.
